Hosting and technical operation
Technical information needed to provide and secure the calculator may be processed, including IP address, browser and device information, timestamps and requested pages. This information is used for secure and reliable technical operation and retained only as technically necessary. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Usage analytics
The calculator uses Umami Cloud, provided by Umami Software, Inc., for privacy-oriented usage analytics. The selected analytics data region is the European Union — Frankfurt, Germany, and the current plan retains analytics data for six months.
Analytics helps us understand in aggregate how visitors discover the calculator, whether a Quick Assessment is completed, whether Detailed Analysis is opened, and whether users proceed via the project/contact CTA. The calculator and its Umami implementation do not use analytics cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage and do not assign custom user identities.
Standard analytics information may include the page or URL accessed, referrer, UTM campaign parameters, browser, operating system, device type, language and screen information, and approximate geographic information. The IP address may be used by the analytics service for approximate geographic determination but is not stored as visitor analytics data according to Umami’s documentation.
The three custom interaction types are:
- successful Quick Assessment
- opening Detailed Analysis
- clicking the project/contact CTA
These custom events do not send calculator inputs, calculation results, names, email addresses or other user-entered information. To the extent that this usage analytics processing constitutes processing of personal data, Net Zero Scout GmbH relies on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and its legitimate interest in privacy-preserving measurement and improvement of the public calculator. Umami Software, Inc. provides the managed analytics service and the selected account data region is EU/Frankfurt. Calculator analytics and analytics on the main Steerpoint Energy website are separate.
